BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Mozambique on the 11th of July 1964 in the district of Katandica. Due to poverty, lack of resources in our family, and the liberation struggle, I only went to Grade 1 at the age of 11 when my age mates were already in grade 4. In 1975 I enrolled in Grade 1 at Nyassacara Primary school in the (Distrito Katandica) Katandica District. The liberation struggle and outbreak of measles forced me to leave school while I was in Grade 4 (Mocambique quarta classe) in the Portuguese school. At this school English was not offered as a subject language. So I only got to know Portuguese as my only international language. In 1980, in November, I ran away from the terrorists that were bed and evil from my village in Mozambique into the neighboring Zimbabwe and settled in Chief Katerere’s village where I hired myself to villagers as a herdsman and shepherd boy earning myself next to nothing as I only received food and shelter as wages for my services.
